About the Opportunity
Momentum is seeking exceptional talent to contribute to our expanding presence in the US and drive our business to new heights. As a Business Development Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in managing the full sales cycle, from securing new business to onboarding. True to our name, Momentum values agility and determination in every aspect of our work.
Reporting directly to the COO and President, you'll be responsible for identifying sales opportunities that set us apart from competitors, spanning multiple verticals. Above all, you'll act as a brand ambassador, enhancing client relationships and strengthening our reputation for innovation within the industry.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Building out and scaling business operations by showcasing the company’s suite of customized telecommunications and satellite solutions
- Socializing new products and services while prospecting across diverse verticals
- Ensuring quarterly sales quotas are met
- Addressing potential problems and promptly suggesting solutions to leadership, escalating when necessary
- Promptly responding to and following up on sales inquiries using appropriate methods and channels
- Conducting cold calling, closing deals, and seeing transactions through from conversion to proposal
- Providing a quarterly overview of progress across verticals and house accounts, while communicating needs and addressing roadblocks
- Supporting company exhibitions collaboratively with other team members, as needed
- Creating and cultivating sustainable business relationships, acting as a reliable brand advocate to enhance the company’s brand reputation
More About You
In order to qualify for this role, you will have at least 5+ years of sales experience, with demonstrated success with B2B sales – satellite/telecommunications preferred.
The following skills and experience will be crucial for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree: Business, Sales and Marketing (preferred)
- Familiarity with IT/telecommunications architectures and concepts
- Experience and knowledge of working with Natural Resources (e.g. LNG, Oil & Gas, mining, solar, wind, forestry)
- Knowledge of Telecommunications within workforce camps, shelters, and mines (asset)
- Able to bring a substantial book of business to the table
- Adept at identifying, qualifying, and closing sales opportunities with working knowledge of contracting and negotiating
- Proven experience initiating, developing, and maintaining successful customer relations efforts
- Competently sets individual goals/KPIs and strives to overachieve them
- Hunter mentality - a go-getter with a knack for uncovering new sales opportunities, generating leads and making cold calls
- Excellent negotiator with the ability to close on major sales
- Plans and manages sales efforts strategically
- Self-disciplined with excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Ability to build trust and exercise accountability
- Strong team player
